Tokyo Ghoul S Live-Action Film's New Trailer Streamed

The official website for Tokyo Ghoul S, the second live-action film based on Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul manga, began streaming a new trailer for the film on Monday. At the end of video, voice actor Mamoru Miyano, who voices Shū Tsukiyama in the anime version of Tokyo Ghoul, narrates the film's title.
The film will open in Japan on July 19.
Masataka Kubota (center in image below) is returning as Ken Kaneki, but Maika Yamamoto (left in image below) is replacing Fumika Shimizu as Tōka Kirishima. (Shimizu retired from acting to join the Happy Science religious organization in 2017.) Shota Matsuda (right in image below) is joining the cast as Shū Tsukiyama, a character who appears in the manga but was not in the last film.

The first film premiered on July 3, 2017 at Anime Expo in Los Angeles. The film then opened in Japan on July 29, 2017, and ranked #5 in its opening weekend in Japan. Funimation screened the first film in theaters in the United States in October 2017.
