Crayon Shin-chan Anime, Shiroi Kyotō Live-Action Series Get Collaboration Short Anime
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
TV Asahi announced on Sunday that the Crayon Shin-chan anime will have an anime collaboration with the upcoming live-action Shiroi Kyotō series. V6 member Junichi Okada, who will star in the Shiroi Kyotō (The White Tower) series as Goro Zaizen, will voice the same character in a "short anime" that will air on May 17 during Crayon Shin-chan's normal programming time of Friday at 7:30 p.m. The segment of the episode featuring Okada is titled "Sugoi Kyotō da zo" (That's an Amazing Tower).
Okada has previously done voice acting work for anime — notably as Shun Kazama in From Up On Poppy Hill and as Prince Arren in Tales from Earthsea — but this will be his first time voicing a character in the long-running Crayon Shin-chan anime series.
Shiroi Kyotō is an adaptation of Toyoko Yamasaki's novel of the same name that centers on two doctors who work at a big hospital. The show will air for five consecutive nights from May 22 through 26.
