posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The official website for Shogakukan's Monthly Spirits magazine revealed on Wednesday that Akiko Higashimura will launch a new manga titled Bara to Tulip (Rose and Tulip) in the magazine's June issue on April 27. The manga will be featured on the cover of the June issue, and the first chapter will have a color page. The manga will be a short serialization. The tagline on the below image reads: "I want to find it. I want to recover it. 'The real me.'"
The manga is part of a bigger project for which Higashimura is credited for the original work. A live-action film adaptation, starring South Korean actor and singer Junho in two roles, will open on May 3 in Japan.
The film will star Junho as Nero and Devon. Other cast members include Mitsuki Tanimura, Hyunri, Eri Fuse, and Chansung. Teruo Noguchi is directing the film and Saeki Nejime is writing the script.
Higashimura's Princess Jellyfish and Tokyo Tarareba Girls have both previously inspired live-action adaptations. Kodansha Comics is releasing both manga in English.
