posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Crunchyroll began streaming an announcement trailer for Koei Tecmo Games' Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle game on Wednesday. The video reveals that the game will launch for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC via Steam in North America and Europe on July 5. The game will launch in Japan on July 4.
Koei Tecmo Games will simultaneously release an Upgrade Pack for players who already own Attack on Titan 2.
The game will be an expansion of the original Attack on Titan 2 game with characters and missions from the anime's third season. The game will feature more than 40 playable characters, include original episodes that expand the story, and have new weapons such as the Thunder Spear.
Players will also be able to form squads and reclaim territory from the Titans in Wall Reclamation Mode. An anti-personnel battle experience will allow players to fight killers in ODM gear in aerial battles.
Taiwan's Digital Game Rating Committee previously began listing the game.
Koei Tecmo Games' original Attack on Titan 2 game (without the "Final Battle" subtitle) shipped for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in North America and Europe in March 2018, and for the PS4, PS Vita, Switch, and PC in Japan in the same month.
The Attack on Titan 2 game features improved omni-directional mobility gear, enhanced Titan movements, and more advanced role-playing game elements. The game features a Town Life segment that allows players to strengthen their relationships with other characters in order to uncover their stories. The game also features a new Monocular that allow players to view positions from a distance.
The Attack on Titan 2 game has a new multiplayer game mode called "Extermination" that sets four-player teams against each other to contest points on a map while also dealing with Titans. In addition, the game's Story Mode and Another Mode are playable cooperatively online.
