posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
The official website for the television anime adaptation of Riichirou Inagaki and Boichi's Dr. Stone manga revealed the character line art designs for the anime on Monday. The cast, including the new character designs, are as follows:
Makoto Furukawa as Taiju Ōki
Kana Ichinose as Yuzuriha Ogawa
Yūichi Nakamura as Tsukasa Shishio
The anime will premiere in July.
Viz Media describes the manga's first volume:
One fateful day, all of humanity was petrified by a blinding flash of light. After several millennia, high schooler Taiju awakens and finds himself lost in a world of statues. However, he's not alone! His science-loving friend Senku's been up and running for a few months and he's got a grand plan in mind—to kickstart civilization with the power of science!
Boichi (Sun-Ken Rock) and Inagaki (author of Eyeshield 21) launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2017. Shueisha published the ninth volume on Monday. The manga was tied for 15th place in the 2018 edition of Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook in December 2017.
Viz Media published the manga's first three chapters in English as Shueisha published them in Japan as part of the company's "Jump Start" initiative. Viz Media then added the series to its regular lineup for its digital Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, and is now publishing the manga digitally. Viz Media is also releasing the manga in print.
