Super Sentai Actor Masashi Ishibashi Passes Away at 85

The official blog for famed Super Sentai series actor Masashi Ishibashi announced on Friday that Ishibashi passed away from heart failure on December 19. He was 85.
Ishibashi made his debut in the Super Sentai series in its second installment, J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai, as Iron Claw in 1977. He was known for the villain roles he would play in various installments in the series including Battle Fever J, Kagaku Sentai Dynaman, and Kousoku Sentai Turboranger. He also had roles in such tokusatsu series as Kamen Rider, Kamen Rider BLACK, and Kamen Rider Super-1. He also played Kaze no Gennai in the live-action Lone Wolf and Cub series.
Ishibashi also played roles in period dramas such as Mito Kōmon, Ōoka Echizen, and The Unfettered Shogun.
