The staff of the Tsukino Talent Production (TsukiPro) franchise announced at Animate Girls Festival 2018 on Saturday that the Tsukiuta. THE ANIMATION anime series is getting a second season titled Tsukiuta. THE ANIMATION 2. The staff will reveal the broadcast times and other details at a later date.
Tsukiuta. THE ANIMATION is the television anime of a music and original drama CD series about anthropomorphized months. The franchise centers around the Tokyo idol unit Six Gravity (composed of characters representing December to May) and the sibling rival unit Procellarum (composed of idols born in Western Japan and representing June to November).
TsukiPro staff also announced a live-action film adaptation of the ALIVE SOARA CD series, which follows the formation and development of the SOARA band. Additionally, staff also announced that a 2.5D Dance Live Alivestage stage production, centering around the Growth unit (also part of the ALIVE series), will run in three episodes next May, next November, and in spring 2020.
The official website for the franchise had announced on Friday that in light of voice actor Yoshimasa Hosoya's physical condition, the musical artist koyomi of the Sakuramen group will replace Hosoya as the singing voice of Arata Uzuki. Hosoya will still be the speaking voice of the character.
The website for the franchise also announced on Saturday that Tsukino Talent Production is launching an entirely new unit named infinit0 (pronounced "infinite zero," pictured below) in 2019. The staff also announced new CDs, including a "fifth season" of the Alive SQ CDs and a "second season" of Vazzrock CDs.
The first Tsukiuta. THE ANIMATION television anime season premiered in Japan in July 2016. Funimation streamed the series as aired in Japan, and then offered it on Blu-ray Disc in September 2017.
Itsurō Kawasaki (Arc the Lad, Rental Magica, Sengoku Basara - Samurai Kings) directed the first season at Studio Pierrot, with scripts by Sayaka Harada (Library War, Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, STARMYU). Yukiko Ban (.hack//Intermezzo, .hack//SIGN, Dusk maiden of Amnesia) adapted Jiku's original character designs for animation. Fujiwara (MOVIC) is credited as the original creator.
The seventh stage play in the Tsukiuta franchise, CYBER-DIVE-CONNECTION, will run at Hulic Hall in Tokyo from December 5 to 9, and then at Mielparque Hall in Osaka from December 13 to 16.
The TsukiPro franchise has also spawned the TsukiPro the Animation television anime based on four of its other groups: SOARA, Growth, SolidS, and QUELL. The anime premiered in October 2017 and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired. The anime is getting a sequel. The SolidS and QUELL groups are starring in a separate stage play series titled SolidS & Quell on Stage (S.Q.S), and its second episode is running in Japan from November 1-11 at Hulic Hall Tokyo.
