Pop culture news site Mini Theater Tsūshin began streaming a preview clip on Thursday for Kurenai Enishi, the sixth stage play for the Tsukiuta franchise. The stage play is running from October 18 to November 4 at the Shingawa Prince Stellar Ball in Tokyo. The play has Black and Red versions focusing on Six Gravity and Procellarum, respectively.
The first stage play ran in April 2016 in "Black" and "White" versions focusing on Six Gravity and Procellarum, respectively. The second stage performance ran in October 2016 in "Sakura Chapter" and "Moon Chapter" versions, both of which starred both groups but focused on different characters. The third play, School Revolution!, ran in March 2017, again with Black and White versions for the different groups. The fourth play, Lunatic Party, ran in October 2017. The fifth stage play, Rabbits Kingdom, ran in November/December 2017, and again featured Black and White versions, but in this case both versions starred both groups in the same story from different perspectives.
CYBER-DIVE-CONNECTION, the seventh stage play, will run at Hulic Hall in Tokyo from December 5 to 9, and then at Mielparque Hall in Osaka from December 13 to 16. Both the sixth and seventh plays star the members of the Six Gravity and Procellarum group.
The franchise already inspired vocal music CDs, duet CDs, drama CDs, and a 2016 television anime. Funimation streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.
The franchise has both a male version and a female version. The male version centers around the Tokyo idol unit Six Gravity (composed of characters representing December to May) and the sibling rival unit Procellarum (composed of idols born in Western Japan and representing June to November).
Tsukiuta is part of the "2.5 dimensional" agency Tsukino Talent Production, or TsukiPro, which also spawned the TsukiPro the Animation television anime based on four of its other groups: SOARA, Growth, SolidS, and QUELL. The SolidS and QUELL groups are starring in a separate stage play series titled SolidS & Quell on Stage (S.Q.S), and its second episode will run in Japan from November 1-11 at Hulic Hall Tokyo.
The casts of the Tsukiuta and S.Q.S stage plays are holding a joint concert on December 26 and 27 at Omiya Sonic City in Saitama.
