Fire Emblem Fates Manga About Leo Ends on June 28

Manga spinoff of game launched in January 2017

The July issue of Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine confirmed on Monday that Tama Yugyōji's Fire Emblem if: Nibelung no Hōkan (Fire Emblem Fates: Crown of Nibelung) manga will end in the August issue, which will ship on June 28.

The magazine previously revealed last month that the manga is approaching its end, using wording that hinted that the manga would end in the August issue.

The manga is based on the Fire Emblem Fates games, and focuses on the character Leo.

Yugyōji launched the manga in Monthly Comic Zero-Sum in January 2017. Ichijinsha published the manga's first compiled book volume last September.

A Fire Emblem manga by Fire Emblem Fates character designer Yuusuke Kozaki (Donyatsu) and story writer Shin Kibayashi (GetBackers, The Knight in the Area) was scheduled to launch in September 2015, but was suspended due to various circumstances.

The Fire Emblem Fates games launched in Japan in June 2015 and in North America in February 2016. The games have inspired several comic anthologies and four-panel manga.

Previous Fire Emblem manga series include Maki Hakoda's adaptation of the first game, Fire Emblem: Dark Dragon and the Sword of Light, and Kōtarō Yamada's Fire Emblem: Hasha no Tsurugi (Fire Emblem: Sword of Champions), which adapts the sixth game in the series. Nea Fuyuki's Fire Emblem: Hikari o Tsugumono and Mitsuki O-sawa's Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War both adapt the series' fourth game.
