This year's June issue of Akita Shoten's Bessatsu Shōnen Champion announced on Friday that Kenji Hamaoka's new series Sensei! Shimekiri desu yo~ (Manga Artist! It's Your Deadline~) will launch in the next issue on June 12.
The manga debuted its first chapter in Weekly Shōnen Champion on March 15, but was it always slated to launch in Bessatsu Shōnen Champion.
The gag manga about the "other side of the manga industry" follows a hot-blooded manga editor and a beautiful female manga artist.
Hamaoka launched the original Urayasu Tekkin Kazoku (Super Radical Gag Family) manga in Weekly Shōnen Champion in 1993. The 31-volume manga spawned three sequels: the 28-volume Ganso! Urayasu Tekkin Kazoku from 2002 to 2010, Maido! Urayasu Tekkin Kazoku from 2010 to 2017, and the new Appare! Urayasu Tekkin Kazoku, which launched in March.
The original Super Radical Gag Family manga inspired a 33-episode television anime 20 years ago in 1998. Akitarō Daichi (Fruits Basket, Kodocha, Now and Then, Here and There) directed the anime at Studio DEEN. Maido! Urayasu Tekkin Kazoku also inspired a television anime adaptation in 2014, and Daichi again directed the series.
