fhána Vocalist Cancels C3 AFA Hong Kong Appearance Due to Flu

The Anime Festival Asia convention announced on Thursday that towana, the vocalist of the band fhána, will not be able to attend the convention due to being sick with influenza. The remaining members of fhána – Junichi Satō, yuxuki waga, and Kevin Mitsunaga – will still come to the convention and will continue to provide autographs and sign posters. Kevin will play a DJ set that will feature fhána's music at the same original time allotted for the band to perform during the "I Love Anisong" concert.
fhána formed in 2012, and is composed of three music composers — Junichi Satō, yuxuki waga, and Kevin Mitsunaga — as well as the group's vocalist, towana. The group has performed theme songs for anime such as The Eccentric Family, Witch Craft Works, Celestial Method, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei Herz!, Comet Lucifer, Haruchika – Haruta & Chika, and Tales of Zestiria the X. The group recently performed the opening theme song for Kyoto Animation's Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid anime, and also performed the theme song for the recent The Eccentric Family 2 and Knight's & Magic anime. The group is also performing the opening theme song to the ongoing Märchen Mädchen anime. fhána released their latest album, What a Wonderful World Line, in April 2016.
C3 AFA Hong Kong is one of five in content company Sotsu Co., Ltd. and Singaporean events and marketing agency Sozo Pte. Ltd.'s "C3 AFA" joint events that bring together their C3 and Anime Festival Asia events. Aside from Hong Kong, the events have also run in Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, and Singapore.
The convention will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday to Sunday, February 9-11. The guests include fhána, Luna Haruna, Shiena Nishizawa, Nogizaka46, Daisuke Namikawa, Hiroyuki Yoshino, Kiyono Yasuno, Manabu Jingūji, Azumi Asakura, Asami Shimoda, Ayaka Suwa, Haruka Yamazaki, and the "Baby's breath" vocal unit (consisting of Yūko Ōno, Yurika Endō, and Aoi Koga).
The convention's "I Love Anisong" concert will be live-streamed via the Niconico Live Streaming service on February 11. The stream will include the performances of Luna Haruna, Shiena Nishizawa, and Kevin Mitsunaga's DJ set. The stream will be free and will be available worldwide except in China, although a portion of the concert will not be streamed.
