The Evolution Championship Series (Evo) tournament revealed the lineup of fighting games on Tuesday for this year's Las Vegas tournament. The tournament will take place at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas on August 3-5. The games include:
- Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition
- Tekken 7
- Injustice 2
- Dragon Ball FighterZ
- Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2
- BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle
- Super Smash Bros. Melee
- Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
The games that will headline the Arena grand finals on Sunday are Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, Tekken 7, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, and Super Smash Bros. Melee.
New entries in the lineup include Dragon Ball FighterZ and BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle. The latter game is debuting just two months before the event, at May 31 in Japan, and June 5 worldwide.
This will be the first Evo tournament that does not include a game from the Marvel vs. CAPCOM series since the inclusion of Marvel vs. CAPCOM 2 in 2000. CAPCOM released Marvel vs. CAPCOM: Infinite, the latest entry in the series, last September.
The tournament recently held Evo Japan, the first Evo tournament to be held in Japan, earlier this year on January 26-28.
