Series premieres March 25, film opens June 23

The official website for the live-action film and television series adaptation of Ema Toyama's Missions of Love (Watashi ni xx Shinasai!) romantic comedy manga announced three additional cast members on Thursday. The website also revealed that the four-episode series will premiere on MBS on March 25 and TBS on March 27, while the film will open in Japan on June 23.

The new cast, pictured left to right in the image above, are as follows:

  • Anna Yamada as Mami Mizuno, Shigure's childhood friend who harbors feelings for him
  • Kanta Santō as Akira Shimotsuki, Yukina's childhood friend and Shigure's rival
  • Daichi Kaneko as Hisame Kitami, Shigure's step brother whose cellphone novel competes with Yukina's for popularity

As previously announced, Tina Tamashiro (left in picture below) will play Yukina, and Yūta Koseki (right) will play Shigure Kitami.

Tōru Yamamoto is directing the film and series.

Kodansha Comics publishes the manga in North America and it describes the story:

Cell phone novelist Yukina Himuro has decided that in order to satisfy her fans' demand for love stories, she must experience romance firsthand. But with her icy reputation, how can she find someone willing to play the part of boyfriend? By blackmailing the most popular boy in school, of course!

Toyama launched the award-winning manga in Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine in 2009, and ended it in June 2015. Kodansha published 19 compiled book volumes for the manga. Kodansha Comics published the manga's 14th volume last May. Toyama will launch a new manga titled Watashi ni xx Shinasai! Couple-hen (Missions of Love - Couple Arc) on March 2.

Kodansha Comics also released Toyama's Manga Dogs, I Am Here!, and Shugo Chara-chan! manga. Tokyopop previously published Toyama's Pixie Pop: Gokkun Pucho manga.
