Asobi Asobase Gag Manga About Girls Playing Games Gets TV Anime
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
This year's third issue of Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine is revealing on Friday that a television anime adaptation of Rin Suzukawa's Asobi Asobase (Play and Let Play) manga has been green-lit. The magazine will reveal more information about the anime at a later date.
The "surreal gag" comedy manga revolves around three classmates who play simple hand games. One of the girls is good at games, but hates them as she always lost to her older sister and forced to do chores while growing up. Another girl is of American descent, but raised in Japan, and who only pretends to be bad at Japanese. Another girl usually observes their games, and loses to the other girls.
Suzukawa launched the manga on Hakusensha's Young Animal Densi manga website in 2015, but moved it to the Manga Park website in August 2017 after Young Animal Densi shut down. Hakusensha published the manga's fourth volume last August, and will ship the fifth volume on Friday.
