Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wins Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2017

NieR:Automata, Persona 5, Resident Evil 7, Super Mario Odyssey also win awards
Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game won the award for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2017 event on Thursday.
The game also won the award for Best Game Direction and Best Action/Adventure Game, and was also nominated for Best Score/Music, Best Art Direction, and Best Audio Design.
The game also won Game of the Year at the 35th Golden Joystick Awards ceremony in London last month.
Other Japanese games that won awards included:
- NieR:Automata: Best Score/Music (was also nominated for Best Narrative and Best Role Playing Game)
- Persona 5: Best Role Playing Game (was also nominated for Best Score/Music, Best Art Direction, and Game of the Year)
- Resident Evil 7: Biohazard: Best VR/AR Game (was also nominated for Best Audio Design and Best Game Direction)
- Super Mario Odyssey: Best Family Game (was also nominated for Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Score/Music, Best Audio Design, and Best Action/Adventure Game)
Nintendo and developer MercurySteam's Metroid: Samus Returns game also won Best Handheld Game, and Ubisoft's Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle won Best Strategy Game.
