This year's 45th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Saturday that Bandai Namco Entertainment's upcoming Gintama Ranbu action game for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita will ship in Japan on January 18. The magazine also revealed that the game will have a Limited "AV Edition" release that will include 16 songs from the anime, as well as 60 additional voiced lines. Those who pre-order the game will also get a drama CD.
The limited edition PS4 version retails for 10,600 yen (about US$94), and the regular PS4 version retails for 7,600 yen (US$67). The limited edition PS Vita version retails for 9,800 yen (US$87), and the regular PS Vita version retails for 6,800 yen (US$60).
The game is getting an English release in Southeast Asia.
Weekly Shonen Jump announced the game as the "Gintama Project Last Game" for PS4 and PS Vita in July. A teaser video showed Gintoki battling Takasugi. The magazine also previously revealed that Shinpachi and Kagura will be playable characters.
Gintama inspired its first smartphone game titled Gintama Kabukichō Daikatsugeki (Gintama Kabuki District Great Action Movie) for iOS and Android that launched last year. Hideaki Sorachi's original manga has also inspired previous games for the Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, Wii, and PlayStation Portable.
