Konami Reveals Tokimeki Idol Smartphone Game

Konami Digital Entertainment announced on Friday that it is developing a new game titled Tokimeki Idol in anticipation of a winter release on iOS and Android.
In the "idol communication game," the player spends daily life with 15 up-and-coming idols at a music school. The game will be free to play with items available for purchase. There will be a "VR" mode that is compatible with VR headsets for mobile phones.
Konami will announce the main cast at a stage event at its Tokyo Game Show booth on September 21.
Tokimeki Idol is a new installment in Konami's classic Tokimeki Memorial romance game series, which began in 1994 and has spawned numerous sequels, spinoffs, and adaptations, including original video anime in 1999 and 2009, as well as a television series in 2006. An anime film adaptation of the Tokimeki Restaurant☆☆☆ spinoff game, which stars a cast of male idols, has been greenlit for 2018.
