This year's 19th issue of Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine announced on Tuesday that Tachibana Higuchi's Kageki no Kuni no Alice (Alice in the Country of Opera) manga series will end in the next issue on September 20.
Higuchi initially published the Gakuen Alice spinoff as a two-chapter short in December 2015, and later launched the manga as a series in March 2016. Hakusensha published the second compiled volume in May.
The story focuses on Tsubasa Andō's younger sister Hikari, who enters the Alice Opera Troupe's school of music.
Higuchi ended her long-running Gakuen Alice manga in the same magazine in 2013. Tokyopop published 16 volumes of the manga before the company shut down. The company also published four volumes of Higuchi's earlier Portrait of M & N manga.
Gakuen Alice inspired a 26-episode television anime series in 2004-2005. Right Stuf released the series on DVD in North America.
