Voice actor Jun'ichi Miyake's agency Aoni Production announced on Friday that Miyake will no longer voice Guo Jia in Dynasty Warriors 9 (Shin Sangoku Musou 8) as he is still undergoing medical treatment for an illness. The staff thanked fans for their support for Miyake as Guo Jia, and apologized for causing worry.
Nippon Ichi Software announced in April that Miyake would be stepping down as the voice of the main character of its Kamisama to Unmei Kakumei no Cross Thesis game to undergo treatment for an illness. Miyake explained on his blog at the time that the treatment was for nasopharyngitis or the common cold..
Dynasty Warriors 9 is in development for PlayStation 4. Koei Tecmo Games plans to release the game in the West, where the game will also get a release on PC and Xbox One.
Miyake has also played Guo Jia in other Dynasty Warriors games. His anime roles include Keno Inusaka in Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East and Sylvain Clark in Marginal Prince.
