Sphere Performs Theme Song For Two Car Anime
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The official Twitter account for SILVER LINK's Two Car anime series revealed on Saturday that girl idol group Sphere (I've Always Liked You, Matoi the Sacred Slayer, Squid Girl Season 2) will perform the show's opening theme song "Heart to Heart."
The anime will premiere on AT-X on October 7 at 24:00 (effectively October 8 at midnight). The show will also premiere on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and BS Fuji on October 9.
Two Car tells the story of two girls who enter the world of competitive motorcycle sidecar racing. The anime is set on Miyake Island, a small and sparsely populated island that lies nearly 200 kilometers (about 120 miles) south of central Tokyo, but still within the boundaries of the Tokyo Metropolis. The main characters are Yuri Miyata (played by Aoi Koga) and Megumi Meguro (Aimi Tanaka).
Yuri (pictured right in above image) is the girlish, cool-headed, and slender driver who works the accelerator and brake, and whose family runs a guesthouse. Megumi (left) is the boyish, impulsive, and glamorous passenger who uses acrobatic skills and body weight to handle the corner work, and whose family runs an inn. Both are students at the Tokyo Metropolitan Miyake Girls High School. While they are the complete opposites of each other and often butt heads, they complement each other well during races.
The team will fight other motorcycle sidecar teams from all over Japan — each with their own opposing traits, such as honor student and working student, sadist and masochist, and a funny man and straight man.
Nikoichi is credited for the original work. Masafumi Tamura (Ange Vierge) is directing the anime at SILVER LINK. Katsuhiko Takayama (Looking Up At The Half-Moon, Ga-Rei: Zero, Aldnoah.Zero) is supervising and writing the series scripts. Tiv (Masamune-kun's Revenge, Idol Incidents) drafted the original character design concepts, and Yuki Sawairi (Masamune-kun's Revenge) is adapting those designs for animation. Toshiki Kameyama (Kan Colle, March comes in like a lion) is the sound director. Ryō Takahashi (ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept., Please tell me! Galko-chan) is composing the music, and Lantis is producing the music.
