SNK's official YouTube channel began streaming the second episode of The King of Fighters: Destiny, the animated adaptation of The King of Fighters fighting game franchise, on Thursday. In addition, it posted the first episode, which initially premiered on Steam on August 4. Both episodes are streaming with Japanese audio and English subtitles.
The first episode follows Kyo Kusanagi and Terry Bogard, among other characters, as they gather in South Town for the King of Fighters tournament.
In the second episode, Kyo and his companions see Ryo Sakazaki chasing men in black suits out of a dojo. They follow him to where he confronts Billy Kane at Geese Tower.
The series will have 24 episodes (initially listed with 20), and will be voiced by both Chinese and Japanese voice actors. A team that worked on the special effects of the Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV game are working on the series.
When SNK announced the animated adaptation last year, it also announced a live-action adaptation. The animated series was first slated for the first quarter of 2016.
37Games acquired the majority stake in Japanese game developer SNK Playmore in 2015.
The franchise previously inspired a four-episode original net animation from Production I.G titled The King of Fighters: Another Day in 2005 and 2006.
SNK released The King of Fighters XIV, the latest installment in the franchise, for PlayStation 4 last August. SNK then released the game for PC via Steam in June.
