Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry Anime Film's Chinese, English-Subtitled Trailer Streamed

Hong Kong film distributor Neofilms and Malaysian film distributor GSC Movies began streaming separate Chinese-subtitled and English-subtitled trailers for the Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry anime film on Thursday and Friday.
Neofilms will open the film in Hong Kong on July 13.
Odex will hold a fan screening on July 29 in Malaysia, with a general release on August 3. The fan screening and general release in Indonesia is tentatively slated to be sometime in July or August. The Philippines will get a fan screening on July 29, and a general release on August 9. Odex is already screening the film's general release in Singapore, which began on June 8. The company held a fan screening in Singapore on June 3.
The film opened in Japan on May 6, and earned 53,888,700 yen (about US$474,848) in its first weekend to rank at #10.

- Yūichi Nakamura as Gray Fullbuster
- Sayaka Ōhara as Erza Scarlet

- Yui Horie as Charles
- Makoto Furukawa as King Animus, the king of Stella Kingdom
- Aoi Yūki as Sonya, an aide to King Animus
- Jirō Saitō as Zash Caine, the minister of state of Stella Kingdom
Tatsuma Minamikawa (episode director for Aldnoah.Zero, Attack on Titan, Haganai NEXT) directed the film at A-1 Pictures. Shoji Yonemura returned from the previous two television anime series to write the script, Yuuko Yamada (chief animation director for Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East, Persona 3 the Movie #3 Falling Down) was the character designer and chief animation director, and Yasuharu Takanashi returned from the previous anime series and Fairy Tail Zero to compose the music. GAGA is distributing the film. The two-member unit POLKA DOTS performed the film's theme song "What You Are."
