Keishichō Battō-ka Manga Gets Stage Play Adaptation, Visual Revealed

The official Twitter account for Keishichō Battō-ka vol.1, the stage play adaptation of Misaki Saitoh's Keishichō Battō-ka (Police Depatment Sword Division) manga revealed a key visual on Friday. The image centers on Yūichi Nakamura and Masahiro Inoue in costume as lead characters Wataru Kiridōshi and Hayato Kakemitsu, respectively.
Other cast members include:
- Yuzuki Hoshimoto as Mamori Usa
- Kaoru Fujiki as Komachi Inui
- Karen Iwata as Mana Mutobe
- Shōta Miyazaki as Ryosuke Hakamada
- Yōsuke Itō as Benkei Musashibo
- Ikkei Yamamoto as Yoshitsune Minamoto no Kuro
Toei began streaming a promotional video for the stage play on Wednesday.
The play will run from May 26 to June 4 at CBGK Shibugeki!! in Tokyo. Satoshi Ohwada is directing and writing the script.
The original manga's story follows on a special police division that focuses on cases where people are possessed by swords with mysterious powers. Saitoh (Totsugami, Taimashin) launched the manga in Gentosha's Monthly Birz magazine in July 2015. Gentosha published the third compiled volume on February 24.
