Touhou Genso Wanderer Previewed on Nintendo Switch for Demonstration Only

Game developer Aqua Style posted on Sunday that it is developing a playable Nintendo Switch version of its Fushigi no Gensokyo 3 -The Tower of Desire- Reloaded (Touhou Genso Wanderer Reloaded) game for demonstration at Touhou Project's Hakurei Jinja Reitaisai event on May 4. Aqua Style currently have no plans to offer the Switch version for sale, and are currently experimenting with development with the hardware. The developer added in a later post that developing for the Switch is interesting and fun, but there is a chance that the game will not be available for demonstration if the development runs into issues.

Fushigi no Gensokyo 3 -The Tower of Desire-, the third installment in Aqua Style's RPG projects, debuted for PlayStation Vita in Japan in June 2015. The game is part of "Play, Doujin," an initiative to bring dōjin games (such as fan-made Touhou Project titles) to PlayStation platforms.

NIS America released the game with the title Touhou Genso Wanderer on March 21 in North America and March 24 in Europe, after being delayed from its original February release dates. The game has a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita version.

In Japan, Aqua Style developed the updated Fushigi no Gensokyo 3 -The Tower of Desire- Reloaded version of the game and released it for PS4 and PS Vita in December.

NIS America describes the story of Touhou Genso Wanderer:

One day, Reimu Hakurei is visiting Rinnosuke Morichika at his shop, Kourindo. He shows her one of his prized possessions, the golden sphere. However, when she touches it, it unleashes a mysterious beam of light. Rinnosuke starts acting strange, and a giant tower now stands where Kourindo used to be. The population of Gensokyo has also been replicated by clones who attack people on sight. As the Hakurei Shrine Maiden, it is Reimu's duty to resolve this latest incident and bring peace back to Gensokyo. Along the way, she is joined by Futo Mononobe, who has recently set out on a quest to become a first class sage. With her partner in tow, can Reimu make her way through the dungeons of the tower and put an end to this incident?

NIS America also released Touhou Gensou Rondo: Bullet Ballet for PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe in September. XSEED Games released Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity in North America in September. NIS America will release the Touhou Kobuto V: Burst Battle game on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on July 4 in North America, and on June 30 in Europe.
