Neofilms to Screen Project Itoh Films in Hong Kong This Year
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Hong Kong film distributor Neofilms announced last week that it will screen The Empire of Corpses, Harmony, and Genocidal Organ films this year. All three films are based on novels by late author Project Itoh.
Each novel film adaptation is from a different director and studio. Ryōtarō Makihara directed The Empire of Corpses at WIT STUDIO (Attack on Titan, Hōzuki no Reitetsu). Takashi Nakamura (Fantastic Children) and Michael Arias (Tekkonkinkreet) directed Harmony at Studio 4°C (Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I - The Egg of the King, Tweeny Witches). Shukou Murase (Witch Hunter Robin, Gangsta., Ergo Proxy) initially directed Genocidal Organ at Manglobe (The Unlimited - Hyōbu Kyōsuke, House of Five Leaves) before the company filed for bankruptcy in September 2015, delaying the film. He moved to the newly-formed Geno Studio to finish the film. EGOIST (Psycho-Pass, Guilty Crown) performed theme songs for all three films.
The Empire of Corpses opened in theaters in Japan in October 2015. Harmony opened in November of the same year. Genocidal Organ opened in Japan on February 3.
