Square Enix announced on Tuesday that it will release the first three games in its Seiken Densetsu (Mana) series on the Nintendo Switch as Seiken Densetsu Collection. Both the physical and digital versions will retail for 4,800 yen (US$42). The game set will ship in Japan on June 1.
The official Twitter account of the series streamed a video on Monday that shows people playing Seiken Densetsu 3 on a Nintendo Switch.
The Seiken Densetsu franchise marked its 25th anniversary last year. The original Seiken Densetsu -Final Fantasy Gaiden- (Final Fantasy Adventure) game debuted for Game Boy in 1991. Square Enix released a remake of the original game for PlayStation Vita as well as iOS and Android devices in Japan in 2016. The English version of the game simultaneously launched for iOS and Android devices under the title Adventures of Mana.
Square released the Seiken Densetsu 2 (Secret of Mana) game for Super Famicom (SNES) in Japan and North America in 1993. The company released Seiken Densetsu 3 for Super Famicom in 1995, and the game has never shipped in the West or for another system.
The Seiken Densetsu: Rise of Mana game launched for iOS and Android devices in 2014, and Square Enix released the game for PlayStation Vita in 2015.
