Sega announced on Wednesday that its Western release of Puyo Puyo Tetris is slated for April 25 in the Americas and April 28 in Europe.
Sega also began streaming a trailer introducing the various game modes.
The game will launch for PlayStation 4 as a physical version for a retail price of US$29.99. Sega will release the game in digital and physical versions for Nintendo Switch; the digital version will retail for US$29.99, while the physical special edition will retail for US$39.99. The Switch special edition will include keychains: one featuring a green Puyo, and one featuring a purple Tetris block. The special edition is limited to pre-orders and first-run printings of the game.
Sega describes the game:
Tetriminos and Puyos collide in Puyo Puyo Tetris, with players being able to frantically stack and clear by themselves or compete head-to-head with friends. The game has a variety of modes for all you puzzle fiends - from single-player Adventure and Challenge modes to ferocious competition with up-to-four player Arcade modes, for tons of Tetris/Puyo variety.
Puyo Puyo Tetris launched in Japan for Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation 3 in February 2014. Sega later published the game in Japan for PS4 and Xbox One in December 2014. Sega will also release the game for Switch in Japan this spring.
