Super Mario Run Mobile Game Launches for Android in March

Nintendo announced on its official Japanese Twitter account on Wednesday that its Super Mario Run mobile platformer game will launch for Android devices in March. Pre-registration is available through Google Play now.
Nintendo began streaming a gameplay trailer in December that revealed unlockable playable characters including Luigi, Yoshi, and Toad.
The game launched for iOS devices on December 15, and it has surpassed 40 million downloads. A one-time payment of US$9.99 grants unlimited access to the game's three modes. The game can also be downloaded at no cost, but players have limited access to each mode. Nintendo announced in November that it was planning to launch the game in 151 countries and regions.
Super Mario Run is similar to other Mario platform games, but playable with one hand. The game has three modes. "World Tour" is the main gameplay mode featuring six worlds of platforming courses where Mario runs automatically. The "Kingdom Builder" mode allows players to customize their own kingdom using elements from the Mario series. The game also has a "Toad Rally" mode for competitive open-ended gameplay (with no flagpole at the end).
Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto revealed the game at Apple's Special Event in September 2016.
