Smartphone app developer Voltage is developing a smartphone game adaptation of Hisaya Nakajo's Hana-Kimi manga titled Hana Zakari no Kimi-tachi e ~Boys love you~. The app will be available in both iOS and Android devices.
In the romance game, players take on the role of the heroine disguised as a boy in an all-boys school. They will be able to meet characters from the manga.
Preregistration opened on Wednesday. The game is running a pre-registration campaign where players get more starting items the more players pre-register for the game. These items include love passes (which can be used to progress the story), diamonds, and a new avatar.
The manga ran in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine beginning in 1996, and Hakusensha published 23 compiled volumes. Nakajo ran a short continuation of the Hana-Kimi manga in 2011, and published a special chapter in 2014. It inspired a 2007 live-action television series and a second live-action series starring AKB48 idol group member Atsuko Maeda in 2011.
Viz Media published the Hana-Kimi manga in North America. Besides the two Japanese live-action television series, the manga also inspired a live-action television version in South Korea and a 2006 live-action television version in Taiwan.
