Indonesian publisher M&C! announced last week that it has licensed Ishiko's Enchanted by You! (Ore ga Mahō o Kakete Yaru), Fumie Akuta's Sincerely Kiss (Sekirara ni Kiss), Rie Aruga's Perfect World, and Miwa Ueda's Prince Strawberry and Sweet Desserts (Ichigo no Ōji to Entremet) manga. M&C! will ship the first volumes of all four manga on December 28.
M&C! describes Enchanted by You!:
High school freshman Fuki Arai had only one goal: to become the girlfriend of Naoya, the senpai she admires! Together with her classmate Chibaru Okada, who is known as the prince of beauty, Fuki will fight tooth-and-nail to learn the proper use of make up so that she can be a beautiful and attractive girl! But she faces many challenges along the way, not the least of which is Chibaru's always-scathing critiques!
Ishiko launched the manga in Kodansha's Bessatsu Friend magazine in January 2015, and ended it in August of the same year. Kodansha published the manga's second and final compiled book volume in September 2015. M&C! previously published Ishiko's Sweets Kurosawa and The Kyoto Boy and Freeloader (Kyōdan to Isōrō) manga.
M&C! describes Sincerely Kiss:
Chitose is a high school student who constantly "wears a mask" when talking to people for the sake of being liked. One day, a guy named Itsuki saves her from being harassed on the train, and she thanks him with her usual "mask" on. But Itsuki ends up being the first guy to see through her lies.
Akuta launched the manga in Kodansha's Dessert magazine in September 2015. Kodansha published the manga's fourth compiled book volume on October 21.
M&C! describes Perfect World:
26-year-old Tsugumi Kawana, a member of an interior design company, attends a celebratory drinking party with a construction firm, and there reunites with an old flame, Itsuki, and now learns he has to move around in a wheelchair. She remembers her time with Itsuki fondly, and briefly entertains the possibility of reviving their romance, before dismissing it as impossible. Or so she thought.
Aruga launched the manga in Kodansha's Kiss magazine in February 2015. Kodansha published the manga's fourth compiled book volume on September 13.
M&C! describes Prince Strawberry and Sweet Desserts:
Ichigo is the daughter of a cake shop owner who loves to eat delicious cake, in particular the homemade cake that her brother Yuri makes. One day, right before a test, she ends up heartbroken as she finds out that the guy she likes is going out with her best friend, and she subsequently bombs the test. When she asks for a cake from her brother, a man named Kaze ends up giving her the cake. Startled, she soon finds out that Kaze will be working at her family's cake shop.
Ueda launched the manga in Kodansha's Bessatsu Friend magazine in October 2014, and ended it in August 2015. Kodansha published the manga's third and final compiled book volume in September 2015.
Ueda's Peach Girl manga inspired a live-action drama in Taiwan in 2001, a Japanese television anime in 2005, and an upcoming live-action film that will open in 2017.
