North American manga licensor Seven Seas Entertainment announced on Tuesday that it has licensed Shō Aikawa and Nylon's Concrete Revolutio manga, as well as Kenkou Cross' Monster Girl Encyclopedia II (Mamono Musume Zukan II) book.
Seven Seas plans to release the Concrete Revolutio manga as a two-in-one omnibus edition titled Concrete Revolutio: The Complete Saga on June 27, 2017 for US$19.99. Seven Seas describes the manga:
In a world where super-powered individuals have begun populating the Earth, the Superhuman Bureau is established to oversee their superhuman activities and keep them a secret from the general public. However, the population of super-powered individuals continues to grow, and every day sees another crop of superhumans, aliens, robots, and supernatural creatures appearing across the globe! Whether using their abilities for good or evil, it all needs to be kept a secret from the human race. That's where the Superhuman Bureau comes in—tasked with finding, assessing and controlling these individuals. However, new recruit Jiro Hitoyoshi finds things aren't as clear-cut as he expected, especially when, five years later, he finds himself on the other end of the equation.
The manga is based on Studio BONES' Concrete Revolutio original television anime project, of which Aikawa was in charge of series composition and scripts. Aikawa and Nylon launched the manga in Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine in August 2015, and ended it on June 4. Kadokawa published the manga's second and final compiled book volume on August 2.
The anime premiered in October 2015, followed by a second season titled Concrete Revolutio: The Last Song on April 3. Funimation streamed both series as they aired in Japan.
Seven Seas plans to release Monster Girl Encyclopedia II as a hardcover volume in mid to late 2017 for US$29.99. The book will contain uncensored mature content.
Seven Seas describes the book:
Told from the perspective of a wandering scholar of monsters, these vibrantly illustrated pages include one hundred full-color illustrations of seductively-lethal monster girls, including everything from centaurs to succubi, from mermaids to slimes, from goblins to werecats, and much, much more. In addition, the book is filled with fascinating bios and lore, and scores of tantalizing black and white illustrations.
Kenkou Cross released Monster Girl Encyclopedia I at Comiket in 2010 and has since released several follow-ups. Seven Seas released the first book on Tuesday.
