Mobile app data analysis organization Sensor Tower reported on Tuesday that Pokémon Go is no longer the highest-grossing app in the United States iPhone store, with Supercell's Clash Royale taking its place.
Analytics company Slice Intelligence reported earlier this month that the number of paying players in the United States peaked on July 15 and has since dropped 79 percent.
Pokémon Go earned US$200 million in its first month, and reached US$400 million in its second month.
Pokémon Go was the top-grossing app on the U.S. iPhone store for 74 consecutive days, in comparison to Clash Royale's 32 days. The Clash of Clans app once held the top position for 347 consecutive days, followed by Candy Crush Saga for 109 days.
Pokémon Go remains the top-grossing app on the iPhone store of eight other countries, such as Australia, Great Britain, Belgium, Denmark, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, and Thailand. In the U.S. Google Play store, the game remains the top-grossing app.
The Pokémon Go iOS and Android app launched in select countries including the United States on July 6, and has since launched in more than 50 countries. The app is also slated to launch for Apple Watch. The "Pokémon GO Plus" accessory shipped on September 16.
