Rock Band DOES Goes on Indefinite Hiatus
posted on by Jordain Haley-Banez
The three-member rock band DOES announced on Sunday that it is going on an indefinite hiatus. The band's 10th anniversary show on September 18 at Akasaka Blitz will be its final live event before the hiatus. While the duration of the hiatus is indefinite, members assured fans that the band is not breaking up.
Lead vocalist Wataru Ujihara commented that he wants to try pursuing a solo career so that he has the chance to produce his own music. Bassist Yasushi Akatsuka mentioned that the hiatus will be a chance to continue the individual members' musical careers. Drummer Keisaku Morita remarked that he's looking forward to being able to produce music at his own pace during the hiatus.
The band apologized for the sudden hiatus, and thanked their fans for their support.
DOES initially formed with its current members in 2003 and released its debut single in 2006. The group has since performed theme songs for Gintama, Naruto Shippūden, and Space Brothers.
