Philippine cinema chain SM Cinema announced on Wednesday that it will open Square Enix's Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV feature-length CG film in the Philippines "soon." SM Cinema is streaming an English dubbed trailer for the film.
The film opened in Japanese theaters on July 9, and will open in selected theaters in the United States on August 19. The Blu-ray Disc containing the film will ship in Japan on September 30, the same day the game ships.
The film's English and Japanese casts includes:
Aaron Paul and Gō Ayano as Nyx Ulric
The story's protagonist, and member of the Kingsglaive, the king's elite guard under his personal command. When he was just a boy, King Regis saved him, and Nyx feels he owes the king a debt of gratitude for this. He has honed his fighting skills, and possesses an affinity for the magic that those of royal blood wield.
Lena Headey and Shiori Kutsuna as Lunafrena Nox Fleuret (Lunafreya in the English version)
An Oracle who communes directly with the gods, and is charged with the world's purification. She treasures the short time she spent with Noctis in her childhood. Although she was supposed to head to Altissia for her wedding with Noctis, she heads to Insomnia, where the peace treaty is being signed.
Sean Bean and Tsutomu Isobe as Regis Lucis Caelum
The reigning king of Lucis, and Noctis' father. He is wise, kind-hearted, and loved by his people. After Noctis leaves, he works to bring to fruition the end of hostilities between Lucis and Niflheim, its long-time enemy.
Kouichi Yamadera as Drautos
A general in addition to being a Kingsglaive. He is judged by others as a severe person, and he assesses himself even more harshly. He is Nyx's tutor in the art of combat.
Liam Mulvey and Mitsuaki Kanuka as Libertus Ostium
A good friend to Nyx, and both of them grew up in the same town. He is a bright and cheerful person, but also shows a side of himself that is persistent when it comes to carrying out his responsibilities.
Tomokazu Seki as Luche Lazarus
A self-styled leader of the Kingsglaive, who has earned the confidence of his teammates.
Ayumi Fujimura as Crowe Altius
A wielder of great magic, one of few left in the world. She was born in the Kingdom of Lucis, but was raised an orphan. She thinks of the Kingsglaive as her family.
Other Japanese cast members include:
Shōzō Iizuka as Iedolas Aldercapt
Banjō Ginga as Clarus Amicitia
Keiji Fujiwara as Ardyn Izunia
Yūichi Nakamura as Ravus Nox Fleuret
Fuminori Komatsu as Tredd Furia
Wataru Takagi as Pelna Khara
The story of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV takes place during the storyline of the Final Fantasy XV game, and follows what happens to King Regis after Noctis leaves on his trip with his friends. Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata produced the film. Takeshi Nozue (Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children co-director, co-producer) directed the film, and Takashi Hasegawa (1999 GTO film, Crows Explode) wrote the script. John Graham composed the music, and Yoko Shimomura (who is composing the music for the game) composed the main theme.
