This year's first volume of Shueisha's Shonen Jump GIGA magazine is announcing on Wednesday that Kōhei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia (Boku no Hero Academia) manga will get a spinoff manga titled "Vigilante -Boku no Hero Academia ILLEGALS-" in the second issue on August 20. The magazine did not specify if the manga will be a one-shot or a series. Hideyuki Furuhashi (K: Dog & Cat) is writing the script and Court Betten (Harukaze Bitter Bop, Tokyo Girls Destruction) is providing the art. The story will feature illegal heroes.

Shonen Jump GIGA also announced plans to launch a Samon the Summoner and Mr. Osomatsu spinoff manga, as well as side stories for Kimetsu no Yaiba, Hinomaru Zumō, Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, and Straighten Up! Welcome to Shika High's Competitive Dance Club.

The first issue features side stories for Kimetsu no Yaiba, Hinomaru Zumō, Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, and Straighten Up! Welcome to Shika High's Competitive Dance Club, as well as Samon the Summoner and Yuragi-sō no Yūna-san. The magazine also includes a collaboration between May Hero Academia and Isobe Isobee Monogatari ~Ukiyo wa Tsurai yo~.

Horikoshi launched the My Hero Academia manga series in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014, and Shueisha published the ninth compiled volume in Japan on June 3. Viz Media is publishing the manga digitally in its Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and in print. The company released the manga's fourth compiled volume in English on May 3.

The anime adaptation premieres on April 3 and Funimation streamed the series in Japanese with English subtitles in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ireland as it aired in Japan. A second season has been greenlit.
