Age 12 Anime's 2nd Season Reveals New Character, October 3 Premiere

New character Inaba Mikami appears in 2nd season on October 3

The staff of the 12-Sai ~Chiccha na Mune no Tokimeki~ (Age 12: A Little Heart-Pounding) television anime revealed that the anime's second season will premiere on Tokyo MX and AT-X on October 3. It will also air on TV Aichi on October 4, on TVQ Broadcasting Kyushu on October 5, on Sun TV on October 8, and on TV Hokkaido on October 10. It will continue to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

The staff also revealed a new character named Inaba Mikami that will appear in the second season. No voice actor has been announced for the character

Inaba Mikami, a boy from a different school, but who goes to the same cram school as Yui. He is nice to girls and is popular with them, and is a friend to everybody.

The series premiered on April 4 on Tokyo MX and AT-X. The series is also airing on Sun TV and other channels, and is streaming in Japan only on Amazon Prime Video. The first part of the series aired 12 episodes, ending in Tokyo MX and AT-X on Monday (other channels will air the premiere in the following days).

Ai Kakuma (Aldnoah.Zero, Magical Sisters Yoyo & Nene) and Sōma Saitō (Chaos Dragon, Future Card Buddyfight) return from the original video anime (OVA) to star as the heroine Hanabi and her love interest Takao, respectively. Other cast members include:

  • Juri Kimura as Yui Aoi
  • Mayuki Makiguchi as Marin Ogura
  • Sayuri Hara as Kokoa Hamana
  • Shun Horie as Kazuma Hiyama
  • Tetsuya Kakihara as Ayumu Tsutsumu

Seiki Taichū also returned from the OVA to direct the series at OLM. Fumi Tsubota (Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live assistance) is handling series composition and Motoyoshi Iwasaki (Hamtaro, Web Ghost PiPoPa) composed the music. Rie Murakawa performs the opening theme song "Sweet Sensation." AŌP (Mr. Osomatsu) performs the ending theme song.

The story of Nao Maita's original manga begins with Hanabi, a sixth-grade girl who is neither an adult nor a child. She deals with issues such as accidentally witnessing her homeroom teacher kissing, and worrying about experiencing physiological changes before her friends. The manga depicts a 12-year-old girl's innocent worries and first love.
