Atelier Firis RPG's 1st Promo Video Reveals Characters, Mechanics

The official website of Gust's Firis no Atelier ~Fushigi na Tabi no Renkinjutsushi~ (Atelier Firis: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Journey) PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita RPG began streaming the game's first promotional video, and revealed the game's cast and outlined some of the game's mechanics on Monday.
The game is slated for release this fall.
The cast includes:
Firis Mistlud (Kaede Hondo)
Age: 15
Occupation: Alchemist
Designer: Yuugen
She is the story's protagonist, who lives in a mining town closed off by a certain door. She has the unique ability to home in on where ore is buried, and uses it to work as a miner. She has never been outside of her town once, so she dreams of the outside world. She learns alchemy through a certain event, and sets out for the world. She has a calm and gentle personality, but is strong at heart.
Liane Mistlud (Azusa Satou)
Age: 18
Occupation: Hunter
Designer: NOCO
Like her younger sister Filis, she lives in the mining town. She is an excellent hunter, and one of the few able to leave the town. She loves her sister deeply, and the way she dotes on Firis is well known even in the town. She understands her sister's desire to leave the town, and is silently saddened by Firis' circumstances.
Ilmeria Von Leinweber (Sayaka Kaneko)
Age: 15
Occupation: Alchemist
Designer: Yuugen
She is a young alchemist who nevertheless does not hold back in naming herself a genius. Though prideful, she works hard for her trade, and has an orthodox attitude toward alchemy. She is childish, and a sore loser, but is honest at heart. As she shares a goal with Firis of being a full-fledged alchemist, she considers Firis a rival.
Revy Berger (Junta Terashima)
Age: 24
Occupation: Swordsman
Designer: NOCO
He is a wandering swordsman on a quest to become stronger. To attain his goal, he seeks out weapons and tools across the land. Though he looks scary, his appearance belies a strong dedication to household chores. While he is a serious-minded man, he often does absurd things, and can often be an airhead.
The game will allow players to choose clothes among a large wardrobe to suit the environment. Characters will be better able to explore sunny areas when wearing cool clothes. Players will be able to collect new recipes, and in-game actions may give Firis a related recipe. The game's item synthesis system will have "catalysts" that can be combined with normal item synthesis to produce powerful effects.
Koei Tecmo America released Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book in America on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on June 7. The PlayStation Vita release will be digital-only. The game shipped for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita last November in Japan.
