Netflix Japan Streams Kuromukuro Anime With English Subtitles
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Netflix began streaming the first episode of P.A. Works' Kuromukuro television anime series in Japan on April 11, and ANN has confirmed that the episode includes English subtitles. New episodes are streaming on Netflix in Japan on Mondays, four days after their television debut.
Netflix had announced on April 7 that it had the exclusive worldwide streaming rights to the anime. The announcement stated that Netflix will stream the series in other countries at a later date, but did not give any other specifics about streaming debuts outside of Japan. As of press time Kuromukuro is not yet available on Netflix in the United States.
The anime premiered in Japan on Tokyo MX on April 7.
Previous anime with Netflix streaming exclusivity — including Knights of Sidonia and Ajin — streamed on Netflix outside of Japan after the entire show had finished its Japanese broadcast. Netflix streamed new Ajin episodes in Japan three days after they originally aired on television, but without English subtitles.
