Koei Tecmo Games began streaming a gameplay trailer on Wednesday for Hyrule Warriors Legends (Zelda Musou: Hyrule All-Stars), the Nintendo 3DS edition of the Wii U game Hyrule Warriors (Zelda Musou). The trailer features combat for Skull Kid from Majora's Mask.
Alongside Skull Kid, Tetra from the The Wind Waker, Toon Link, the King of Hyrule from The Wind Waker, and Linkle —essentially a female version of the series' main character Link— are also joining the 3DS version as playable characters. All the new characters can be added to the Wii U game from the 3DS game.
Hyrule Warriors Legends will ship in Japan on January 21 for 5,800 yen (about US$47), or 5,143 yen (about US$42) from the Nintendo eShop. The first editions of the game will include a download number for an original 3DS theme. A premium box version retailing for 9,800 yen (US$79) will include a compass-shaped pendant watch and an official setting document collection book. A treasure box edition available only on Amazon.co.jp and Gamecity will include a "Zelda Musou special ocarina performance set," a "fluffy fairy plush" that speaks, the compass-shaped pendant watch, and the official setting document collection book. The treasure box edition retails for 13,800 yen (US$111).
The game will ship on March 25 in North America and Europe. A limited edition of the game in Europe will include a compass. Those who purchase the game in N. America will get an original 3DS home menu theme for a limited time.
Hyrule Warriors for Wii U shipped in Japan in August 2014 and in the West in September 2014.
