Philippine cinema chain SM Cinema announced on its Facebook page on Friday that it will begin screening the live-action film adaptation of Ayu Watanabe's LDK shōjo manga on September 30. The film will be exclusive to SM Cinema, and SineAsia will distribute the film.
SM Cinema describes the film:
Aoi Nishimori's (Ayame Gōriki) parents moved to another city for work, but Aoi didn't want to transfer to a new high school. She stays behind and lives in an apartment by herself. Shusei Kugayama (Kento Yamazaki) moves in next to Aoi's apartment. Shusei is a very popular student at their high school. Due to a mistake, Aoi makes the sprinkler go off in his room. Until Shusei's room is fixed, he stays with Aoi.
The film will be dubbed in Tagalog, and will feature the vocal performances of Filipino actress Roxee B and actor Will Devaughn.
The film premiered in Japan in April 2014. Yasuhiro Kawamura (live-action Nodame Cantabile, Himitsu no Akko-chan films) directed the film, and Yūko Matsuda (live-action Gokusen series) handled the scripts.
Watanabe launched the manga in Kodansha's Bessatsu Friend magazine in 2009, and Kodansha published the manga's 18th compiled book volume on July 13. The manga has more than 4.7 million copies in print.
