Japan Animator Expo Streams Hibiki Yoshizaki, DAOKO's 'GIRL' Music Video
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The official website for Japan Anima(tor)'s Exhibition (Japan Animator Expo), the weekly anime shorts from Hideaki Anno's Studio Khara and the media company Dwango, began streaming the 31st short "GIRL" on Friday.
Note: The video contains some nudity and may not be safe for work.
Hibiki Yoshizaki directed and composed the storyboard for the short at Studio Khara, and Shuichi Iseki served as character designer and animation director. Hiroki Shinagawa handled the image board.
The short is a music video of two of rapper DAOKO's songs: "Samishii Kamisama" and "Yumemiteta no Atashi." Hideya Kojima collaborated on music composition.
The official website for the short is also displaying image boards, character designs, backgrounds, and storyboards.
Yoshizaki previously directed the Japan Animator Expo animated music video "ME!ME!ME!," which also featured DAOKO. The website is restreaming "ME!ME!ME!" until September 18. (The video is not safe for work.)
The lineup for the third season of the project is as follows:

The titles above are listed in phonetic Japanese order, and are not necessarily in the order of their scheduled release. For the third season, Japan Animator Expo is once again releasing a new episode every Friday.
Hideaki Anno himself is serving as executive producer of the entire project initiative with Dwango President Nobuo Kawakami, and he also designed the image character mascot "(Tor)-kun." Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki created the title logo, and fellow Ghibli co-founder Toshio Suzuki colored it. The shorts mostly feature the voice talent of Ranma ½ and Cowboy Bebop co-stars Kouichi Yamadera and Megumi Hayashibara.
