Online game developer Mgame announced on Monday that it is developing a Princess Maker game for Android and iOS devices. Mgame has opened a website for the game, and also began streaming a video that previews some of the game's features.
In the game, players take on the role of a father who adopts an orphan girl and raises her from age 10 to age 18. The game features more than 100 kinds of endings.
Players will be able to customize the appearance and clothing of their 3D characters with numerous accessories, and will also be able to customize the interior of their character's room. The game will also feature dungeon exploration and a battle system. The game will have a "harvest festival" event, where characters can compete with their rivals in various activities, such as combat, the arts, cooking, and dance parties. The butler Cube, a series character, will also appear in the game.
The game will be free-to-play, but players can purchase in-game items. The game is currently accepting pre-registration. Players who pre-register the game will receive the in-game item "Rob Boots" social fairy for free.
Gainax's Takami Akai conceived, designed, and directed the franchise, which was among the first games in the "bishōjo simulation" genre. Gainax released the original Princess Maker game in 1991 on the MSX platform. Gainax released Princess Maker 5 on the PC in 2007, and on the PS2 and PSP in 2008. The games inspired the Petite Princess Yucie manga and 26-episode TV anime in 2002.
