Kamisama Kiss Original Anime DVD's Promo Streamed With Narration

The official website of Julietta Suzuki's Kamisama Hajimemashita (Kamisama Kiss) manga began streaming the narrated version of the promotional video for the manga's second original anime DVD project. The video is similar to the previously streamed promotional video, but includes new narration.

Narrator and Text: 500 years ago.
Text: There was a woman who risked her life for a great yōkai.
Narrator: The infamous great yōkai Tomoe fell in love with a human woman.
Narrator: But love between human and yōkai is taboo.
Text: The unfulfilled promise...
Narrator: For this, he paid a grave price, one that plagues his life even now.
Text: ...became a curse, and began to plague his body.
Narrator: Nanami has but seven days left.
Text: Only seven days remain.
Narrator and Text: Kamisama Hajimemashita: Past Arc
Narrator and Text: The "past arc" that continues from the TV anime series will be adapted into an anime in the next two volumes. Reserve your copy in the bookstore and the net!

The OAD project will have two episodes that will adapt the manga's "past arc," which spans from mid-volume 14 to volume 17 in the manga. The first episode, temporarily titled "Kamisama, Kako ni Tobu" (God, Leaps Into the Past), will ship with a limited edition of the manga's 22nd volume on August 20. The pre-order deadline for the limited edition is June 30.

The second episode, temporarily titled "Kitsune, Koi ni Ochiru" (Fox, Falls in Love), will ship with a limited edition of the manga's 23rd volume on December 18. The pre-order deadline for the limited edition is October 30.

Akitarō Daichi is returning to direct the two anime episodes at TMS Entertainment. Junko Yamanaka will again serve as character designer and chief animation director. The other cast and staff of the anime will also return.

The story of Julietta Suzuki's original manga begins with Nanami, a girl who finds herself homeless after her father leaves. She comes to the home of a man who offers to let her stay over — only to discover it is a Shinto shrine. The man happened to be a deity who has just transferred his status and his yōkai to Nanami. That yōkai's name is Tomoe, and a contract between him and Nanami can only be sealed in one way: with a kiss.

Suzuki launched the manga in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine in 2008, and Hakusensha published the 21st volume in April. Viz Media published the 18th volume in North America on June 2.

The series inspired two anime seasons, and Funimation streamed both seasons as they aired in Japan. Funimation also released the first season on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in 2014.

The manga also inspired a previous two-episode OAD that shipped with the manga's 16th volume in August 2013.
