BlazBlue Gets Smartphone Rhythm Game

The BlazBlue fighting game series is inspiring the Eat Beat Dead Spike-san (Eat Beat Mr. Dead Spike) smartphone rhythm game for Android and iOS devices. The character Ragna the Bloodedge's Dead Spike attack features in the free rhythm action game that is slated to launch in 2015.
In the game, Dead Spike eats various things to the beat of BlazBlue music. The player taps their device at the right time to feed Dead Spike and score points. All of the songs are available in the game from the beginning, and the songs have three difficulty levels.
The game's songs will include:
- "Rebellion II: Ragna the Bloodedge's Battle Theme"
- "Bullet Dancell: Noel Vermillion's Battle Theme"
- "Catus Carnival II: Taokaka's Battle Theme"
- "Reppū II: Band Shishigami's Battle Theme"
- "Queen of rosell: Rachel Alucard's Battle Theme"
- Susanooh II: Hakumen's Battle Theme"
In the game's story, Ragna and Dead Spike are in a certain Hierarchical Year. Ragna fights, but he is unable to win. Dead Spike sees this and has an idea. Dead Spike wants to utilize his ability to grow stronger while eating.
Beginning on Friday, people who register through the game's official website will receive an extra song. After the game launches, people who registered will receive one character battle theme that is different from the version available in free gameplay.
The BlazBlue Chronophantasma Ver 2. game debuted in arcades in Japan on October 9. Aksys Games released BlazBlue Chronophantasma in North America earlier this year.
