Nintendo announced via its Direct Presentation on Wednesday that the Pikmin Short Movies CG film anthology is now streaming via Nintendo 3DS and Wii U consoles. Each version costs US$4.99.
The short animated film project premiered at the 27th International Tokyo Film Festival last month. The film project was started by game producer Shigeru Miyamoto as an experiment to show actions of characters that could not be expressed in the game series. The film is split into three shorts: “Mayonaka no Juice,” (Midnight Juice) in which the Pikmin make Captain Olimar's favorite juice, “Bin no Naka no Otakara,” (The Treasure Inside the Bottle) in which the Pikmin discover a mysterious treasure, and “Taihen na Ichi Nichi,” (A Hectic Day) which focuses on the spectacle at the workshop.
