The official website for the television anime adaptation of Midori Endō's Gugure! Kokkuri-san began listing the six Blu-ray and DVD sets for the series on Monday, revealing that each set will include a five-minute OVA.

Each set will also include a three-sided case by character designer Miwa Ōshima, a manga booklet and a cover illustration by original manga creator Midori Endō, a special variety CD, and a short live-action special featuring the cast. The first Blu-ray and DVD will retail for 6,300 yen (about US$59) and 5,300 yen (about US$49), respectively, and ship on December 24. Special editions of the first Blu-ray and DVD will also include a drama CD and a set of eight acrylic key chains for 7,300 yen (about US$68) and 6,300 yen (about US$59), respectively.

The anime stars:

Yoshimasa Hiraike (Working!!, Amagami SS) is directing the anime at TMS Entertainment (Yowamushi Pedal, Brave10). Miwa Ōshima (Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts, GJ Club) is designing the characters.

The first episode premiered on Sunday, October 5 on Crunchyroll and Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for North America. Crunchyroll describes the story:

Gugure! Kokkuri-san revolves around the daily life of a little girl named Ichimatsu Kohina and Kokkuri-san, a handsome low level fox ghost with long white hair who she accidently summoned. At first the fox ghost only intended to haunt her but got worried about her living all alone and devotes himself to do chores as if he was her mother. Other ghosts, including the dog ghost Inugami who is infatuated with Kohina and the old good-for-nothing supernatural raccoon Shigaraki, decide to follow her as well!
