Danganronpa Stage Play Cast Photographed in Costume

Play will open in Tokyo on October 29
The theater production company CORNFLAKES released images of its Danganronpa stage play cast in costume on Friday. Some of the characters are double-cast:
Kanata Hongou (Btooom!, live-action Gantz, NANA 2, live-action The Prince of Tennis movie) as Makoto Naegi
Rei Okamoto as Kyōko Kirigiri
Ryouta Ozawa as Byakuya Togami
Hikaru Osawa as Tōko Fukawa
Ren Yagami as Mondo Ōwada
Manpei Takagi as Kiyotaka Ishimaru
Reina Fujie as Aoi Asahina
Nagisa Oshima also as Aoi Asahina
Haruka Ishida of AKB48 as Chihiro Fujisaki
Makoto Okunaka of PASSPO also as Chihiro Fujisaki
Reina Ikehana as Celestia Ludenberg
Seitarō Mukai of the Tenshin comedy duo as Hifumi Yamada
Yukie Yamaguchi as Sakura Ogami
Yuya Miyashita (Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's' Yūsei Fudō) as Leon Kuwata

Akira Ishida (no relation to the voice actor Akira Ishida) of the comedy duo NON STYLE (Sgt. Frog ending theme) as Yasuhiro Hagakure
Masaya Matsukaze also as Yasuhiro Hagkure
Sayaka Kanda as Junko Enoshima
Ishida is also directing the production, and Kei Horie (Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger's Gao Yellow) is writing the script. Kazutaka Kodaka, one of the original creators of the game series, is supervising the scenario on behalf of Spike Chunsoft.
Danganronpa The Stage ~Kibō no Gakuen to Zetsubō no Kōkōsei~ (Danganronpa The Stage: The Academy of Hope and the High School Student of Despair) will run from October 29 to November 3 at the main hall of the Nippon Seinenkan in Tokyo.
NISA licensed and released the first two Danganronpa games in North America and Europe as Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa: Goodbye Despair. A spinoff game, Zettai Zetsubō Shōjo Danganronpa: Another Episode (Absolute Despair Girl Danganronpa: Another Episode), is slated for September 25 in Japan. The franchise inspired a television anime series that premiered last July, and Funimation streamed the series as it aired.
