Mega-evolved forms of Altaria, Salamence, and Lopunny introduced

The Pokémon Company International began streaming a trailer on Sunday for its upcoming games for Nintendo 3DS, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. The video introduces the mega-evolved forms of Altaria, Salamence, and Lopunny. The video also gives an overview of new in-game contest competition features, cosplay Pikachu's fighting abilities, and a limited edition Shiny Beldum that can eventually Mega Evolve into Shiny Metagross.

Mega Altaria becomes a Dragon- and Fairy-type and receives the Pixilate Ability, which changes Normal-type moves into Fairy-type moves. Mega Salamence's receives the Aerilate Ability, which turns Normal-type moves into Flying-type moves. Mega Lopunny receives the Scrappy Ability, making Ghost-type Pokémon vulnerable to Mega Lopunny's Normal-type and Fighting-type moves.

Cosplay Pikachu can dress up as either Pikachu Rock Star, Pikachu Pop Star, Pikachu, Ph.D., Pikachu Belle, or Pikachu Libre, each with their own unique fighting abilities. Pikachu Rock Star knows the Steel-type move Meteor Mash, and Pikachu Pop Star can use Draining Kiss in battle, a Fairy-type move that is effective against Dragon-type Pokémon. Pikachu, Ph.D., can learn the Electric-type move Electric Terrain, while Pikachu Belle learns the Ice-type move Icicle Crash. Pikachu Libre can battle with Flying Press, a powerful Fighting-type move.

The new titles will remake the 2003 Game Boy Advance games Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire. The games are slated to ship on November 28 in Europe and November 21 in Japan, North America, and Australia.
