The official Facebook page for Yu-Gi-Oh! announced on Wednesday that the Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Duel Carnival game is heading to North America on Nintendo 3DS via the Nintendo eShop this September. The game (known as Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal Gekitotsu! Duel Carnival in Japan) is designed to provide a genuine dueling experience similar to the original Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game.
The competitive card game includes over 5,500 cards that players can use to construct their decks to duel. The cards feature monsters from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal anime and the latest powerful cards. Players can choose one of more than 40 characters from Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal to play as the protagonist, and each protagonist has a story for players to advance through.
The game shipped in Japan last December, and it is scheduled for Europe and Australia on June 26 (in physical retail packages, unlike in North America).
The current Yu-Gi-Oh! television anime in English, Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal II, originally premiered in Japan in October 2012. Konami began airing this series on The CW's Vortexx programming block in the United States last August. Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, the latest anime series in Japan, premiered last month.
