March 31 concert postponed; April 5 concert still planned
BUMP OF CHICKEN's official website announced on Thursday that the band has put its March 31 concert on hold due to the health of vocalist and guitarist Motō Fujiwara. Fujiwara (pictured top right) has already undergone surgery for pneumothorax (collapsed lung), and is beginning rehabilitation. The band reports that he hopes to leave the hospital soon, but the band members and staff determined it would be safer to postpone the concert.
The band's April 5 performance in Chiba, which will kick off its "BUMP OF CHICKEN Tour 'Willpolis 2014'" tour, is still scheduled to occur as planned.
BUMP OF CHICKEN has performed theme songs for Tales of the Abyss, One Piece: Dead End no Bōken, and the live-action Gatchaman film.
